Authenticity is the art and daily practice of being who you really are. For those of us with trauma or painful issues in our past, we may have learned to mold and reshape our words, actions, desires, etc., to meet the needs of others as a strategy to stay safe. But unfortunately, it is at the expense of our true selves. As adults, learning to be who we really are (aka. authentic) takes time and practice. It isn't easy.
