How do we know if we are processing too much in our close relationships? Well... whenever I am trying to figure out if I am doing something compulsively or unconsciously, the question I like to ask myself is this: "What is the payoff I get from doing this thing?" (Thank you Kathlyn Hendricks, from the Hendricks Institute, for this great question).
Getting curious about what I might be "actually" up to, helps me to unearth any of the unconscious dynamics that might be at play. A humbling thing to look at. ;)
